Best Summer Ever

I can't believe that summer has ended. It was really weird for me because I can tell when summer has ended when I go back to school but I didn't go back to school since I am done so that was a weird feeling. I miss all my school friends, professors, and counselors so much! I can't wait for Graduate School.

I am still dating Jason Kocherhans who is such an amazing man! I can't really tell enough people how great he is. I just have to take him with me everywhere so people can meet him! :) It has been such a busy summer. We both work and Jason just finished a crazy work schedule in July. I am still working at Nutraceutical and am learning a lot. I love getting paid. :) Last week we took my nephew to see Despicable Me 2. It was so much fun and he loved it! We have also this summer done everything together. We haven't missed a day of seeing each other since we started dating in March. I can't believe we have been dating for 6 months! It is insane! But we are having so much fun! I am taking a Prep course for the GRE starting September 14 and then it goes every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 pm- 9 pm for six weeks and then I take the DREADED GRE. I am applying to the Utah State University Master's program. So next fall hopefully I will be up at Utah State doing a Master's program up there.

My singles ward is so awesome! I just got released as the Co-Chair of Activities and called as the Relief Society Secretary. The Lord is for sure stretching me which is awesome. Jason got  released as Sunday School Teacher and called as (get this) Activities Co-Chair. :) Everyone makes fun of us. I am so excited for the Labor Day break! I also am excited for this weekend. Time really has flown by. I am really enjoying life and what the Lord has blessed me with. I don't deserve a lot of the blessings but am so grateful for them. Life couldn't be any better! I also can't wait to see my dad! He has been in India for 2 weeks and is finally getting home tonight.

Birthday Extravaganza

That last post was from awhile ago and I didn't know how to finish it so I just posted it. I had the most amazing birthday of my life. It was the best of all my 21 years. It is crazy to think I am 21 years old now. I also can't believe that I am where I am today. I never imagined I would be dating such an amazing man or at the point I am today. I seriously am so blessed for such an amazing family who has always stuck by my side. So for my fantastic birthday Jason had the 21st all to himself. That was our day to celebrate before friends and family celebrations started happening. He told me pretty much a week before he had a plan for my birthday but wouldn't tell me what it was. It drove me crazy! Then the day of my birthday I met him up at his house and we exercised. After we exercised he took me out to dinner at a place we found at the Lehi Outlet Malls that is like a 60's Hamburger Joint. It was really amazing food because of the Oreo Shake of course. :) Then he surprised me and took me to the lifts at Sundance for the Super Moon lift ride! Where he brought a jacket of his specifically for me! :) It was so fun and a great time for us to be together. For my birthday he bought me so lip balm that I have wanted for months! It is the EOS brand! AMAZING! After we went back to his house and I drove home. Then on Saturday I went to his house for a Baby Shower that the girls in his family threw for his sister-n-law. After that we went back to Orem to babysit for Rachel and Jordan. We then met up with friends and Jason's and my new favorite restaurant called Guru's in Provo (thanks to Abby). We then made cookies for the 4th Sunday Feast that my ward has every 4th Sunday. We also hung out with our friends Ammon and Jess for a little double date which they helped us make the cookies as well.

Then Sunday June 23rd happened! That is my actual birthday so I had 2 days of celebration BEFORE the real one! After a long day at church and a lot of happy birthdays I got to come home and put on my sweats! Every time I would relax the door would knock with friends wishing me a happy birthday! They are all amazing people! Love my friends! Then finally Jason and I put on Anne of Green Gables and just chilled. My mom then ordered the day before Empanadas and made black beans! It was such a yummy meal! Steven then made my dessert of Oreo Ice Cream which was amazingly delicious! All the sugar from this weekend made me so sick though! But it was yummy! :) Jason had told me earlier that he didn't buy me anything else which was a relief because I don't really like money spent on me. After my house we went up to his where he gave me another EOS lip balm! Ya he totally lied to me (surprised me). :) Then we went out on his tramp and watched the SUPER MOON!!! It was big! Then he took me home.

I just wanted to thank all my family and friends for such an incredible birthday! It was the Best Birthday of my life! I have never felt so loved or spoiled in my life. :) I am so grateful for everyone in my life! I am sorry I haven't written in awhile but I will try to keep it more up to date. :)

Lucky Girl

I haven't written in awhile but am feeling so lucky and blessed. I am working now! I got a job at a company called Nutraceutical. I answer calls on questions people have about certain health products. It has been such a learning experience since I haven't had a job ever before. All I have known my whole life is school. So its been a way awesome learning experience and I get money which is a plus!
I feel so lucky and blessed also because I am dating seriously the most wonderful man....Jason Kocherhans. I met him at a group game night that some mutual friends of ours were at. We had been in the same ward but for some reason never noticed him and he never noticed me. We would be at the same activities but for some reason or another kept missing each other. I have a feeling it's because I wasn't ready for all his awesomeness. We have been dating since he says March and I say April. :) We seriously are by each others side a lot of the time. Either I go to his house in Highland after work or he is in Orem after I get off since I get off later than he does. It's surprisingly how well we fit together. He doesn't care if I sing in public (which most of you know is important). His sisters are very similar in that way so I realized that is why he doesn't get bothered by it and most importantly he lets me be myself.

Almost There and Life

I thought I would do a quick update since I haven't for awhile. I am preparing to graduate on April 26, 2013! I am so excited! It is a few weeks away. It is unbelievable that I made it this far. I can't believe I am getting my Bachelors at 20 years old. It has been a long and wild ride. A lot of people ask me if I am glad to be graduating and to be honest it is a bittersweet experience. I am glad to be done but yet I am going to miss my professors, the mentoring program, and my internship. I almost cried when I got my tassle thinking about everyone I will miss and just the fact of that my whole life has been getting my education and now that I am almost done it is scary to face the unknown. I have applied for two jobs. I applied to be an EFY counselor but wasn't offered that position. I then applied to work at the Huntsman Center and my application is still being processed. Jason K is fairly confident that I will get an interview for that position.
Yes I have been dating. I have been dating Jason K for about a month now and we have been having so much fun. We started out as best friends and then progressed into dating. We still hang out with the frequent fliers a lot but have been doing a lot on our own. I just went to his house for Easter on Saturday and Sunday. His family is amazing. They all are so awesome and it has been so much fun playing games with them, going out to lunch, seeing plays, and dying easter eggs. This week we plan on spending Easter with my family since his celebrated it early because of his sister expecting a baby. I have been so happy lately and feel so blessed for amazing friends and family.
I want to just thank my family for always being there for me. You guys have supported me through everything i have done. I am so excited to celebrate my graduation with them. Especially my parents. They have loved me through good and hard times. They have helped me out of tough situations and have been my rocks. I love them so much. I am grateful that they are there to talk too. I love my friends who are all so supportive of me. Who some are even trying to get out of work to be there at my graduation. They are seriously the best friends that I have ever had.
I will keep ya'll posted on the job and dating and life. Thanks for all the support and love. :)

The Story of The Frequent Flyers

Alright so here we go. I have lately been hanging out with some friends. One of them wanted me to post about them but specifically instead of just saying friends. We are pretty much an awesome group. We do things every weekend and usually have people come in and out. Sometimes they hang with us and other times they don't. We evolve so I am only going to mention the frequent fliers if you will:
Jason Hall: Jason Hall pretty much loves sports. He also makes really good treats and always wants to go out of Utah County or go out somewhere so we can meet people. So now we tend to try to go an adventure.
Jason K.: This Jason loves the games. If you mention that at the party "Bang" will be there, he comes. He pretty much keeps us all sane. He was the one I mentioned that came to all the Superbowl parties with me and also makes some pretty epic suggestions for going out to eat every weekend.
Megan Brooks: Megan is pretty much one of the coolest girls I have ever met. She is way down to Earth and has an amazing laugh. She makes delicious cookies (if I do say so myself) and never forgets you. She loves doing service for others whether that is throwing a surprise party or just doing something nice in general. She is there for you. She is also very good at match making. At least we all think so.
Heather Stembridge: I consider Heather a frequent flyer even though she comes off and on. She loves doing a whole plethura of stuff with us and is the one who goes about anywhere with you. She never complains and is someone who anyone can trust. She is also very good at supplying us with good conversation.
Jacob Bradshaw: He is the quiet but fun one. Jacob will sing Disney with me and pretty much just supply our group with some comedy relief. He is very good at coming when asked and is very good at disappearing at times when only one person knows where he is which is Jordin (his girlfriend).
Jordin Christensen: Jordin is pretty much one where you don't know what she is going to come up with next. She is really energetic and full of life. She supplies us with new games every now and again and will also bring anything to a party. She is dating Jacob and the whole group loves it so at times she isn't present because she is with Jacob.
Matt B.: Matt is one where you don't know if he will be in or out. He also might join up with you later. You never know with this guy but if he is there he is there. Matt doesn't mess around. Matt also enjoys "Bang". This is the frequent flyers. We have a lot of people who join us every now and again and we love when they do. It is a fun group and the coolest part is we all come from different backgrounds so each of us bring a lot to the table. I hope I did them all justice. If I didn't I am sure I will hear about it soon. :)

Superbowl and Mom Missing!

My dad had his Superbowl party again this year. He planned for weeks and invited about 15 people. Then a friend of mine and his wife threw another Superbowl party. So I went Superbowl hopping and Jason agreed to go with me on this grand adventure. The first party was my friend and his wife where the food was amazingly good! I didn't really want to leave. He had pulled pork and so much more that we missed because we then went to my father's party. Everyone was there: Rachel, Jordan, Madison, Paul, Royal, Trevor, Steven, Kristi, Lisa, Lori, Robert, Rachel & Chris (Kristi and Steven's friends),Andrew, Stephanie, Mom, Dad, Jason, and me! (Sorry if I missed anyone). :) My mom got a bunch of goodies and Steven grilled his famous chicken and there were drinks and goodness! :) After we ate some of us didn't want to watch the superbowl: Steven, Mom, Me, Jason, Andrew, and Stephanie learned how to play a really fun game that Steven taught us. It was a really fun game and we ended up playing  from 5-10 pm with only a short break to make Brownies! :) The Brownies were delicious thanks to Jason and I because we are brownie experts. If you ever need Brownies let me know.
Now to the sadness. The next day we said goodbye to my mom. She got on a jet plane and left us for a whole week! WHAT THE HECK?! :) She went to Oregon to visit Debbie! I was super sad I couldn't go with her. I also miss her cooking. Last night my dad had eggs and hashbrowns while I had a sandwich.  It also has been really quiet in the house. I was so occupied last night with FHE, homework, and sleep that it wasn't very loud. I am really grateful for my mom and that she is such a major part of my life that when she is gone I miss her. I miss talking to her and just having another girl in the house. There is a lot of Testosterone.
School is school. There isn't much to say about it. I have a couple night classes which is hard but I am getting through it and love all my professors. i am presenting at 2 conferences now which is amazing for a student to be able to do that. Both are statewide conferences for health professionals. One is up in Logan and the other is up in Salt Lake. I am really nervous but so excited I get this opportunity. I signed up for the CHES exam and now have to mail my transcripts to them. I can't believe that I am graduating in April. It is crazy insane! I love my ward. I have enjoyed being in Activities and planning those activities for my ward. I love my friends. They have helped me so much in life lately. They check up on me and we pretty much do something every weekend which is fun for me to stay busy. I love my institute classes and love going. It has been hard because on Thursday's I have been dealing with insurance companies. This week is a very slow one for me which will be nice instead of the craziness of last week. Thanks for Reading! Love you all! :)

Sickness, School, and Snow OH MY!

Will the snow ever stop?! I don't know how much longer of this snow I can take. Trust me I love the snow. I love building snowmen, sledding, and running around in it but why can't it stay off the roads and sidewalks?! That would make my life a whole lot easier. :) Just kidding. I am actually happy for the snow because that means there will be lots of water for surfing and tubing this summer with my family! So I can't complain really. Plus I am excited for Friday when I can actually go out and play in it.  I haven't been able to really enjoy it this time around because of my crazy school schedule.
Sickness is being passed to everyone this time of year. My dad, mom, sister, and I were all sick this week and last. Then some of my friends ended up sick. It is like a plague! :) Luckily we are all on the mend and I am so excited for this weekend for my father's annual Superbowl party. It should be pretty epic!
School is intense. Everyone told me senior year would be the easiest well you are wrong. Senior year is by far my hardest year of school. I love my professors especially Mary Brown who has helped me get so much farther in academia then I thought I could go. I am presenting not only at UCUR in a few weeks up at Utah State (so you peeps up that way we need to do something or come see me or something!:))  I am also presenting at HEAU which is a health education conference that is held in salt lake this year. It is a pretty big deal. It is all the health educators from across the state that come so this is the time for networking. I am so excited for all these opportunities. Group work still sucks! I am in this group that I am like the mother who has to tell them exactly what to do and when. It is annoying and tiring but good experience for the real world! I love working at the Health and Wellness Center. I have 2 clients this semester and have loved working with them. I tutor part time now which is nice. I have loved having some extra cash to spend so I don't have to rely on my parents as much anymore. I can't believe I am graduating in April! It is craziness! I am going to miss the mentoring friends I have made, professors who I love, and the classes that I have taken.
I have been so blessed in my life. I keep getting blessed and I feel like I don't really deserve it at times. I owe my Heavenly Father so much! He has given me great friends, family, and people in my life to steer me in the right direction. I am excited for everything my life holds. I did get an interview for an EFY counselor position for the summer but I don't think I am going to get it. Not because the interview went bad but because I have a feeling that there is something waiting for me this summer so I need to be patient and realize it is all in the Lords timing. This is going to be a crazy semester but I can't wait to move forward to the next stage of my life. Which is graduate school and working. Unless God changes those plans for something better. ;)

Happiness Post

I have been reading this book I got from the Health and Wellness center at UVU. I have been doing my internship there and this last semester got to do some one-on-one coaching. My client signed up for the Happiness course that is based of  the book I am currently reading called Be Happy by: Robert Holden. When I took my client through this course I started out as a critic thinking this course would never help her become happy or help her become happier. I can say that there was a true change in her. She became happier over the weeks of this course. After I met with her for the last time she asked me what I learned from teaching the course. This question through me off but I told her that I learned what true happiness is and how many of us lack true happiness. I told her I discovered my own barriers to happiness. My boss challenged me to read the book that the course was based on and go through the course by myself to help them see any flaws to their course or if they needed to add anything.
Well I have been reading the book and was again very skeptical of it at first but I have discovered a lot about myself and what happiness is. He is not LDS but he has a whole chapter on the spiritual path and health of individuals. It is amazing how much it aligns with the gospel. The section I read tonight really helped me see what I need to work on and I hope it causes an eye opening experience to those who read this post. He starts of this section of the book by talking about why we suffer. He says: "When you forget who you are, you forget what happiness is. And when you forget what happiness is, you suffer." He then talks about how people try to discover who they really are. The first way is the search. He talks about how this search for happiness is denial of happiness. He says: "For as long as you deny the joy of your being, your ego and your personality will never be completely satisfied or pleased with the world....You only search for that which you fear you do not have, or for that which you are not yet willing to accept that you have already. The truth is, you are what you seek." Happiness is already with us and we will only discover it when we call off the search for happiness. So I have learned by just this first way that I have been searching for happiness or think that I will achieve happiness when I am married, graduated, and working. In reality I won't find it there because it is already with me. None of these things will satisfy me either because "it is impossible to find happiness for as long as you overlook your true nature." So as of tonight I am calling off the search for happiness because I already have it. This post is super long so I will write more later this week or on sunday.

Who Am I?

I decided to post again since I don't post very often. I recently went to see Les Miserables with 2 of my guyfriends. I love the song Who Am I that Jean Valjean sings when Javert thinks they found Jean Valjean and apologizes to the real Jean Valjean about wanting to arrest him. Once Jean Valjean leaves he sings this song about how could he condemn this man to slavery but yet if he doesn't then his workers won't survive. My favorite lines in the song are: "Must I lie? How can I ever face my fellow men? How can I ever face myself again? My soul belongs to God, I know I made that bargain long ago. He gave me hope when hope was gone. He gave me strength to journey on. Who am I? Who am I? I am Jean Valjean."
These lines ring so true to me. I have fallen short of who I am and wasn't sure if I could face myself again. I give and have given God my soul and He truly gave me hope when hope was gone. He constantly gives me strength to journey on because of this fact I know who I am. I am Chelsea Newsome, a Daughter of God, which no one can take that knowledge from me. I am grateful for this knowledge because even though I don't know what the future knows God does. He is constantly guiding me to where He needs and wants me to be. I trust Him because of the strength He has given me and the hope.

Weaknesses

This Christmas Break I have learned a lot about myself through my weaknesses. I have had amazing friends and family who have been there for me and helping me understand myself in ways I didn't think possible. This break I was diagnosed with Mono and had an enlarged spleen. One of my friends and I started talking about the emotional ties to sicknesses and what triggered the mono. He talked to me about different emotional triggers. He has this book of sicknesses and the emotional triggers to each one. I realized that I didn't get mono from someone else but I got mono from myself. I have been through a lot of tough things lately and felt lost. I am so grateful I knew who to turn to. I turned to God. I let Him carry my burdens & trials. I finally let Him and my family and friends in to help me. I have realized that I have many weaknesses that can be turned to strengths. I don't regret any choices I have made. They have helped me become a stronger person. I know that God is there. I know He loves us. No matter what we have done He will always love us and wants us to let Him in.
So this friend of mine then started to talk to me about essential oils and which ones will help me with my mono and help my body balance itself back out. It helps your spirit and body become one. I have started rubbing essential oils on since yesterday I have felt a lot better. I know a lot of you are thinking it is all in my head, but I believe my body and spirit were out of sync with each other. I hope this makes sense. I am still really out of it and my brain is groggy.
School starts next week as well. It is my last semester of school for a year. I am uber excited and also very nervous. My whole life I have been very dedicated to my education. It is going to be interesting to not start in the fall again. I have also come to love being a mentor and don't want to give that up. Luckily for me I know that with each end to something there is always something better around the corner. I am applying to be an EFY counselor and should finish that up this week and hopefully will be a counselor this summer. I feel like that is my "mission." I have wanted to be an EFY counselor since I was 14 and went  to EFY. I also want to tell my mom, dad, sister, brothers (Jordan this includes you), and sister-n-laws how grateful I am to each of you. You never give up on me and have always been right beside me supporting me. Thank you all so much for everything! I love all of you. :)

God Is There

So tonight is one of the hardest nights I have had in a long time probably since September. I felt trapped. My parents didn't want me to leave the house cause the roads were bad. My friends couldn't come get me and I felt so stuck. I didn't want to be at home. I didn't really want to be anywhere. So I went outside and read my scriptures on the porch watching the snow and reading. The scripture I read was exactly what I needed. I then decided to walk in the newly fallen snow and talk to God. He let me vent to Him of everything I didn't like in my life. I was wondering what I was doing wrong. He simply responded nothing. You need to have patience. I told Him that patience was hard and He told me it will get better. I asked Him why I couldn't be what the world marks as beautiful and He said cause you are beautiful to me and that's what matters. He also reminded me of those men in my life who find me attractive. He told me to trust in His timing. I know it is easier said than done but it just felt good to know someone was listening. I am not saying that everything will be perfect now but I know that He is there, listening. God wants us to talk to Him but He won't force himself upon us. God knows how our life will turn out. He knows the end so we need to trust Him. I am grateful to know I am doing nothing wrong but not having trust and patience.
I am grateful for this gospel. I am grateful for my blessings. Yes I have some hard times but in the end it is just a crease in the fold of time. God loves us. That's all that matters.

Another Week in My Life

So this week has been awesomely awesome. :) I am firstly really grateful that my mom is home. :) It was a fun week preparing food for my dad and being there with him but I also felt bad leaving him at home when I went to Preston's to play games with his family. I learned how to be a good wife though. I cleaned a lot and cooked. YES! Dinner was ready for my dad right when he came home from work. :)
I have been spending a lot of time over at Preston's house spending time with his sister, Charise, who lives with her family in Idaho. They came down for the 24. I was over there a lot. They came Thursday and stayed until today. I loved being over there and playing with his nieces and nephews. I took his 2 nieces to ice cream and got to talk with them a lot. Shelby is the youngest and she is attached to me by the hip when she comes. It is a lot of fun. Friday  the 2oth I went over there for most of the afternoon and night. Then Saturday I hiked Timp! YES! I made it to the top! My dad and I went. The only downside to my hike is the sunburn on my neck that is still there it has been 5 days and it still burns. My sister-n-law looked at it yesterday and thinks it is almost a 3rd degree burn! Preston took really good care of me yesterday. After I played football with him and his 2 nephews. We went back to his house ate lunch and played Star Wars! Such a fun game! Then Preston put aloe vera on it and got a towel in some ice water and put it on the burn. It felt so good! I think that is why today it doesn't hurt to bad. It is going to be a nasty peel though. Then after that  he took me back to my house and we went our separate ways. :) No we didn't break up but i went to an Owlz game with my family to watch that and see the fireworks and he stayed with his family for a firework show. After the game I went back to his house to say goodbye to his family and eat some carrot cake that his sister made. It was delicious!!!!!! Then Preston took me home and he is at work. I am currently at UVU after doing a photo shoot for the college that the mentors work for and then I am going to mentor  my class.  This week should finish up great! I am so excited for my family reunion on the 4th. My aunt gets here and it is just going to be epic! I love life and those in it! I miss a lot of you who I don't get to see. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you. It is funny how busy life gets sometimes but that you always meet the people that need to be in it at that time.  I will keep ya posted on my many adventures. Next week I am moderating at a focus group for this research project I am involved with. It should be epic! :)

Life and Why is Blogging so Hard?

Well I stink at blogging (officially)! I get on and check on my friends blogs and family but I don't write on mine. I need to be better cause it is a great way to keep everyone involved in my life. I can't talk to a lot of you as frequently as I would like to so blogging is awesome! I just need to be better.
Since last writing I have been volunteering as a UV Mentor. An instructor at UVU found out I was bored this summer and called me up to see if I would be willing to volunteer as a mentor with him. I know how important mentoring is for the students so I agreed plus it looks great on my resume and applications for graduate school. I have had the whole class last week and part of this week cause he is on a trip at a presentation. YES! I am teaching a college class! CRAZY eh? Then just a week ago I had another professor email and say she was working on a research project and needed students to help. I have been praying for an opportunity like this for sometime because it will help me get into graduate school. So now I am doing that with her and some other students. I am really excited!
Then I was stinking at staying in shape and healthy. My cousin, Abby, called me to tell me how well she was doing and helped me recommit to my goal. I am now back on track. I am avoiding sugary treats and get dessert only on Sunday. If I eat dessert during the week I have to do 50 sit ups (Preston's idea). I have to do 150 sit ups for last week. :( I messed up on friday and saturday. I just got through doing 20 sit ups. I now DO NOT want to mess up again. Sit ups suck!!!! I have been playing tennis more and am loving it! Preston and I are going to try out for the next summer olympics. haha. Just kidding. He is really good and I am getting better. I also weighed in today and Saturday and have been losing weight so I am really excited for that.
This week has had its up and downs for sure but I am so grateful for the people in my life who listen to me and care about me. I don't know where I would be without good friends and family to help me through the tough times. Everything is going great with Preston and I. We have been having a lot of fun and he just got a job! Which is great! It is a little sad since I have been used to seeing him a lot but this is good for when school starts and we both get busy again. Overall Life is good! I can't complain cause I have seen so many tender mercies from my Heavenly Father that there is no reason to complain. He has been my rock and I see Him more and more in my life. He is constantly guiding me in the direction He wants me to go. I am grateful for that. I love this gospel and my life.

Summer Time

So for those of you who don't know Build A Bear fell through so I have still been searching for a job. No luck! :( I have no idea why!? This is for sure how I didn't see my summer. I saw my summer working and having a blast with friends but with no job and no income I can't really do what I wanted to do. I just am trying to see the bright side that Heavenly Father knows best. I love being at home with my mom! She is amazing and always puts me to work. I woke up the other day and there was a list of things to do. I have been working on it for 2 days now so it is fun to get stuff done for her. I sing while I do it and apparently my brother today could hear me on the front porch with the door closed. Yes I was belting it out.
I ran the 5K! YAYA!!! I did it in 30 min. which is about a 10 min mile. That is my fastest mile and I got to do it with an incredible boy! ;) Yes, Preston ran it with me. It was fun to have him there and he is really good at supporting me and helping me.
Then lets see just job hunting still. Sunday I spoke in church and from what people say I did an incredible job. I felt like I sped read through the whole thing but everyone said it was awesome! Monday Preston and I went to the mall and then back to his house for filling out applications. Tuesday we (Preston and I)went up to Bountiful to see my Grandma and Uncle Steve. It was seriously the best. I loved it! My uncle is seriously an incredible person and I love him so much.  My cousin Brad came over and almost beat Preston up for making a U diss.
My birthday is Saturday along with my Grandma's 90th birthday party. It is incredible to think she has lived 90 years. She is an incredible example to me. I love her so much! She is so funny and witty. Yes she has still got it for the most part. I can't complain about my life. I love it! Yes at times it is hard but I just remember that Heavenly Father is in charge. I don't want to turn 20 but am excited to be an adult! My dad can no longer say I am nineteen teen teen teen and that I am just a teenager. He is in India and gets home on Friday! Can't wait to see him! He is such an amazing man! I love all the men in my life and their examples to me and the women. I have such awesome people to look to and get advice from. Love Y'all.

Stinking It Up!

I for some reason really struggle with blogging. It shouldn't be that hard. I think sometimes I feel like I am writing to myself so I just give up writing on it. Catch up time: Preston's family is in town so we haven't really been able to hang out or go out together in awhile just us. It has been hard since that is when I get to really talk to him and get to know him. Family first though! Always! I have been learning how hard a relationship can be when it comes to communicating and learning to be patient with one another. I thought having a boyfriend would be easy but come to find out there are some hard things that we have gone through but luckily for us that has  made us stronger and appreciate each other more. We have just been seriously having a blast dating each other. We are going slow and enjoying every minute of it! He is an awesome boyfriend! Next would be talking about job hunting. All my friends and family have been so great in helping me find a job. When build-a-bear fell through I got a lot of support from my family. I have applied for a secretarial job at my friends work. I am also going to become a red cross volunteer then a friend of my parents said his dentists office is looking for a secretary now! So that might end up working out! I also have an old professor who wants me to do an internship with her. This has made me realize how important connections are when trying to find work.
I love running! I love to go (usually by  myself) and I am now running 2.2 miles in about 24 min. I am going to be running a 5k that proceeds go to supporting Crohns Disease which is a disease my uncle battled for years. I am excited to support that cause!
Life is great! I couldn't ask for a better family or friends. Everyone in my life has supported me through easy and tough times. I just can't wait to get busy so I stop wasting time this summer cleaning my room. LOL! I miss school but love the freedom of being able to do what I want instead of having my HW set up my schedule for me. I hope to keep this more updated. :) Love you guys!

One Lucky Girl!

Hey Everyone,
I have rededicated myself to blogging. This summer I would like to post weekly in my blog to keep everyone updated on my life. I also feel like this is my personal journal since I am to lazy to write in mine.  :)
So my mom, dad, and I traveled home from a 2 week stay in Oregon with my Aunt (Debbie), Uncle (Kevin), and cousin (Ethan). We had many great adventures including swimming, hiking, going to the coast, spa day and whale watching. It was such a fun 2 weeks and a nice break from the stresses of life. We got back on Tuesday night at around 12 a.m.
Since being home I have gone to Institute, Ran, Ward Sports Night, Park City Adventure, Mall Shopping, and Movie Night. :)
I have been pretty busy since coming home. I interviewed at Build-a-Bear which I am hoping I get the job! I would love to work there! Cross your fingers! It was a group interview with 8 people. It was the funnest interview of my LIFE!!! We were asked questions and got to build a bear and then sell it to the managers. I had a fox that I dressed in a cute hoodie and pants. When I was selling it I said: "You are a five year old boy." She said okay. I then asked her what her favorite animal was and she said a fox! That is when I had a Brian Reagan moment where the words are already out so you just have to finish the sentence even though you know it is not right. I said: "Did you know that the fox is the fastest animal in the world!! The manager laughed so hard she started to cry. She told me you just lied to a little kid. I told them well I am trying to sell it here. LOL! Ya I turned bright red!!!
I also feel like the luckiest girl in the world because I have been dating this guy who always makes me feel so beautiful. We go running together and even when I am all sweaty he tells me how pretty I look. I am so lucky to have him in my life at this point. That is why this is titled one lucky girl cause I feel so blessed. Heavenly Father sends the little tender mercies that boost my spirits up.  I am really one lucky girl! I have amazing parents, friends, and family who always have my back no matter what the situation is. I love everyone who either is in my life or has been in my life and what I have learned from each individual.

Summer Adventures

School is finally out for the summer! So now I know a lot of you are asking what is Chelsea going to do with her life since school pretty much consumes her whole life. Well since school has been out I have gone on dates and actually had a social life. I got reapplied for the mentoring program and they cut a lot of the old mentors but I made it!!! I love the mentoring program and am so excited to continue in the program.
What the future holds for my education I have no idea. I am thinking of applying for respiratory therapy in the Fall and pretty much if I make it in; I make it in if not I will transfer to BYU and get my masters in health education. I have realized that in the future I want to open up a facility where I can help obese people lose the weight in a healthy way. I want to help obese children and stop the pandemic with our children. This means I would probably need to get a coaching license.
Social Life well this has been interesting. I have been seeing a really awesome boy lately. I met him in my ward and we have been casual dating each other.  We have spent a lot of time together since I left on a roadtrip for 2 weeks and before that he went to Idaho for a couple days. We are in an open relationship and just are enjoying getting to know each other and having fun together. We have done a lot of fun stuff! We have gone running together, made cookies, watched movies, and played video games together (he is trying to help me learn how to play 007 and some other games). I am not a gamer but it has been fun. Then one of my best friends gets home from his mission in JUNE!! 3 weeks!!! It is crazy and then some of my big brothers get home after that. I am excited to see them all again.
My mom and I left on April 30 for a road trip to Oregon. My brother Trevor tagged along and we are very grateful he came. Some scary stuff happened and if he hadn't been there I don't know where my mom and I would be today. He left on May 5th and my mom and I are staying until the 16. My dad is going to join us on the 11th! I am so excited to see him. I haven't seen him in awhile so it is going to be good to have him with us for Mothers Day.
I am so blessed in my life to have such good friends, family, and education. My parents have always supported and been there for me and I will be forever indebted to them for what they have done for me. I love being up in Oregon with pretty much my 2nd parents. My aunt and uncle are amazing and I love them so much! I am so glad that I have this summer to make memories and to have fun before school starts again! The next time for when I get home is finding a job so if any of you have ideas let me know!
Thanks for being supports and always having my back! This is my life and I love it. I hope to keep my blog updated.
Chels :)

Trials

Firstly, I wanted to start out and thank my sister, mom, and aunt Debbie for all they do for me. Last week was a tough one for me. I was stressed with papers, tests, and then after all that ended up going on one of the most awkward dates of my life. I am not here to write about that. I have already done all my venting to these three women. My sister I know a lot of you know her but she is seriously one of the most incredible daughters of God I have ever met. She is a one of the kind mother with 3 kids all under the age of 5. She takes care of them when their sick and then she gets sick but she still continues to be a mother. She always has time to talk with me on the phone. I don't know how she does it but she does. Her advice is priceless to me. She is also one of the best listeners I have ever met. She doesn't ever try to fix my problems but just listens. Then when I ask she tells me what she did when she was my age. My mom is just an incredible lady. She drives me to my classes every Tuesday to Layton. She has supported me through bullying problems, social problems, and everything in between. She is my hero and one day I hope I can be as strong and as beautiful as she is. My mom has gone through so much in her life but always serves others not matter what the situation. She is one great woman. My Aunt Debbie is another incredible lady. She is my constant guide. She always has time for me or makes time for me. I love her to death and really there is no way to describe her and put her in the perfect light that she is in.
Lastly, The Lord blesses us when we have our down times through priesthood blessings and friends He blesses us with when we need it but it is always in His own timing and we need to have faith and trust that He knows what he is doing. We are never alone and He is always there. He never forgets us. He is our best friend and knows the right timing. I am so grateful to my father for being worthy of giving me blessings when I need that extra boost. I hope to find someone who is just like my dad. Thanks to everyone else for being there for me. :)

This One is For the Girls

So it has been a tough week for me. I have been super busy and wasn't able to really get out and work out except for on Saturday I went running. I have been thinking a lot lately and asking the question: "Why?" I was pretty down on myself Friday night because there were some boys who weren't really making life easy on me. It was like every word out of their mouths you would think: "Really? Did that just come out." I had a really bad attitude about men on Friday night which was bad because the next day I had a blind date with someone that Jordan and Rachel wanted to set me up with. After I came home and thinking about it I thought wait why do I care. It is their loss not mine. I can do better. That is what I kept telling myself.
Saturday rolled around and i had such a fun time on the double with Rachel and Jordan. They are amazing and I don't know how Jordan knew when he asked me a few weeks ago to do this that I really needed to feel special again. I had so much fun. I have been doing a lot better at thinking this is just for fun don't stress about the future. That has helped me enjoy going on dates. We went mini golfing Jordan and Rachel style and lets say my date and I kicked trash!!! haha. Then before that we went to Applebee's for lunch. So I just want to let the girls out there know who might be struggling with not feeling special that there is one who knows you. He loves you and knows when you need pick-me-ups. To those girls who think why am i not being asked out or why won't that boy like me? Lets just say between us it is their loss of not getting to know you. Life is too short to worry about them. I am so grateful to my Savior for knowing me and sending the people in my life when I need them the most. I am so blessed to have an amazing family who will always love me. Just a quick shout out to Debbie, my mom, Abby, Rachel, and Jordan who have been my examples and friends and who have helped me realize that it is okay to have fun and that it is always the boys' loss for not getting to know you. :)

Life As I know it

This semester has pretty much been crazy! I drive every Tuesday/Thursday up to Layton to the Weber Davis Campus. It has been draining to drive up there and then going back to UVU to get those classes done. Luckily my parents have supported me through all of it. Still no letters but that is okay. Life goes on. I am loving my new calling! It has gotten me super involved in my ward which has been so good for me. I am going to more activities, meeting new people, and making new friends. I am in a Dating and Courtship class which has proved to help me to mature and figure out more about myself. I have had not only family but friends trying to set me up which has been so funny. I take 2 night classes which is what is the right word here............long. There ya go it is long. Oh did I mention Monday was the best day I have had in a long time. I got to go behind the scenes of the Conference Center with my Uncle Escott and cousins: Zack, Dusty, Keenan, and Abby. My mom and Trevor and Heidi and last but not least my Tio Omar. He is an amazing example of being very classy and respectful to women. I also got to eat delicious Uruguayan food with my family and cousin Danny. It was delicious to have Empanadas again.
My friends are still getting married like crazy but I am so happy for them. I am also loving Once Upon a Time. It is my new favorite T.V. Show! For all those who haven't seen it you need to watch it ASAP!!! Overall Life is good and I am loving working hard and hopefully will see good grades at the end of this semester. It is the papers that are going to kill me in every class. I know that I can survive it. By the way did I mention I have incredible roomies. They are seriously the best. I have also been so grateful to my sister for being such a great example of mother and wife to me. She is amazing. Well I got to get back to the paper.
Ciao
